Balance is important to us, especially in our spiritual life
Sometimes following Jesus footsteps is a bit of a high wire act. We need him to balance us.
Our transformation comes from the lord our goal is to walk like Jesus, we need to hold his hand.
Do you ever turn on the TV just to have noise and to not be alone?
We all have our ways of beating solitude because we don’t want to be alone…
Jesus spent time alone to be with God many times, do you do that?
Do we have it more together than Jesus?
Not likely…
Make an effort this week for alone time with God. Go camping, admire Gods creation and all the wonders around you. Listen for Gods whisper if you don’t listen you might miss what he has to say.
Will you hear when he Knocks on your door?

People will react to your spiritual disaplines.
We must be careful of the motives behind our actions.
What is a life of simplicity to you?
Do you think you will someday attain it?
Would you have more or less stuff?
What would the the stress level be?
If simplicity is obvious and simple why is it so hard to reach?
If we only had 48 hours in a day? Who am i kidding we would then want 72….
If we cut through all the clutter we find simplicity time to spend with God.
If your clutter gets in the way of your relationship with Jesus you got issues!
What if you had a years salary to dispose of? What would you do with it?
When was the last time you reorganized your life and the piorities in it?
Are the things you do important to God or are they important to you?

We need to focus on transformation into Christ.
2cor 3:18
Fasting is a discipline that is not used as often as it could be.
Maybe its outdated or we don’t think about it.
When is the last time you thought of this disapline?
What is the purpose of fasting?
What does it do?
Fasting is not for penance. We fast to increase our intensity of worship to God.
Fasting tunes us into God.
What distracts you from God? TV, computer, etc
Fasting helps us refocus on what is the most important.
Fasting expresses our passion to know God more.
It allows us to bask in the Lord.
Fasting reveals the things that control us; the things that distract us from our relationship with God.
Fasting says “God We Want More of You!!”
Those that seek God will find him. So why do we not pay more attention to fasting?
Fast for revival of God the master so that he can again be the lord of your life!

where are we going and how are we going to get there?
Are we on the same page?
Our number one priority is to be transformed into the image of Christ.
2 cor chapter 3- 18
God created us for so much more than to just survive this world!
Do you Pray?
Regularly ?
Become disciplined and do it daily. We are all commanded to do this with all things.
Prayer is central to our faith!
Are you a believer in the power of prayer?
Have you really given it a chance?
Did you chart its progress? Make a Prayer Journal.
God answers prayers only when he wants to and only when he deems it appropriate. We are not in control God is!
We are to pray so that we not fall into temptation.
Prayer is not just to fix things that we feel are wrong, sometimes
Here is an interesting Quote “God stills the storms of the sea sometimes he stills the storms in me.” So true!
What gave Jesus his strength here on earth….
When he was frustrated what did he do?
When he was hurt what did he do?
When he was scared what did he do?
when he was happy what did he do?…
He prayed.
Got Prayer? Be Changed!

There are a lot of options available to us in this world.
Sometimes we have only limited options, door one or door two?
The are consequences to our choices so we must choose carefully.
In the first century eating with someone was a sign of acceptance. Jesus practiced extreme radical inclusiveness by eating with everyone and anyone including tax collectors and pharisees. The pharisees were more exclusive of who they welcomed or ate with.
There are a lot of places that give special seating to those that are more important than others. At Jesus table all are welcome and equal.
Why do we want the best for only ourselves when God places the same importance on all us.
Jesus makes us comfortable if we are uncomfortable and uncomfortable if we are comfortable.
The two options are:
Humble yourself before God
Or
Be humbled by God
God is looking for people who are willing to look like Jesus.
Who is welcome in your life…who is not. Why?
The world is desparate for a group of people that look like Jesus.
Does your chuch look like Jesus?

Most woman believe motherhood is the best thing that ever happened to them.
99 percent of woman hope there children are good people.
Most mothers feel they fall short.
What is the christian point of view about mothers?
Most country’s do not place a high value on woman.
What is Gods value for the role of woman?
The bible says there is no distinction in value and both men and woman are of equal value to God.
Scripture is not apposed to woman working outside the home but does encourage certain role within the home and their children and husbands.
We should pursue to do all God asks us to and continue to grow and improve. We will never become perfect. But mothers come close… At least in the eyes of their children.
They should not feel inadequate as they do more than most of the worlds population as they continually raise and mold the next generations.
Give honor where honor is due.
Once you have children you appreciate what your mothers go though dealing with selfish children.
Mothers are typically very selfless.
Give her the reward that is due.

On Friday Night a man died and was buried two days later a group of woman went to visit the tomb and the body was not there, what happened?
Did someone take the body?
Were they at the wrong tomb?
Well there was two soldiers laying on the ground and the stone was moved. There was an angel there asking why they seek the living among the dead?
Do you believe the tomb was empty?
Why was it empty?
Did someone take the body?
Did Jesus raise from the Dead.. You know the answer.
Jesus has risen.
His promise fulfilled. When John saw that Jesus was not there he believed.
We believe because there was an empty tomb. Blessed are those that have not seen but believe.
The cloth was folded neatly in the tomb. This is significant because it meant he was not done and was coming back, and he did.
What does the empty tomb mean to you?
Think about that, meditate on that, pray about that.
Don’t walk away from the tomb broken hearted.
